Undergraduate Admission - English Proficiency Policy
Students applying for undergraduate admission are not required to provide proof of English proficiency in order to be admitted at BBIN电子. If a student does not provide proof of English proficiency, the student will take our English Proficiency Test on campus when they arrive. The student may then be placed in English classes full- or part-time, before beginning their degree program full-time.
If a student would like to provide proof of English proficiency before arriving on campus, we accept the following below:
iBT (internet-based TOEFL)
Overall score of 79
Overall score of 6.5
Cambridge English: First (FCE)
Grade of A
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE)
Grade of C or higher
English score of 21
Critical Reading score of 530 or Reading score of 29 (on tests taken after March 2016)
PTE (Pearson Test of English)
Overall Score of 53
Completion of any Group 1, English A course with an exam score of 4 or higher
Completion of Group 2, English B Higher Level (HL) with an exam score of 6 or higher
Transfer students from US institutions who have completed at least 24 credits hours
Completion of English Composition I and II (or equivalent) with grades of C or higher
Students from US high schools
Completion of four years of English with grades of C or higher
*Completion of an English language program at another US university or college will not be accepted as proof of English proficiency.
*Unofficial test scores will not be accepted.
Students submit official test scores in two ways:
- submit the official score report issued to them by the testing company
- have scores sent directly to K-State from the testing center or company
K-State's school codes for test score submission are:
- SAT and TOEFL: 6334 - Undergraduate
- ACT: 1428
PLEASE NOTE: Once students take the English Proficiency Test (EPT) and are assigned to English classes, their only option to show English proficiency is by completing the English Language Program. TOEFL and other test scores reported after students take the EPT cannot be used to waive English classes.
